Darth Krayt: From Tusken Raider Jedi to Dark Lord of the Sith

Darth Krayt was one of the strongest, most powerful Sith Lords of all time. Discover how his life was through this post on Instageeked.

A’Sharad Hett: Young Krayt, a Tusken Raider Jedi!

Darth Krayt is a Sith Lord I’ve spoken about in various videos.

These videos included:

– The Video about Darth Talon

– The Video on Darth Nihl

– The one on Darth Maladi

And a couple of others.

It’s easy stumble upon Darth Krayt while telling other stories as he was a Sith Lord who definitely marked his generation and left a legacy in the Galaxy and Sith’s history.

Darth Krayt was born under the name A’Sharad Hett and he was a human who achieved the rank of Jedi Master.

He was the son of Sharad Hett and K’Sheek, both living as Tusken Raiders on Tatooine.

Ki-Adi-Mundi was his Jedi Master, and later on he was also An’ya Kuro’s padawan.

However, his father was assassinated by a Jedi Assassin, and A’Sharad Hett took revenge.

After these events, he went on to become a General and became friends with Anakin Skywalker, helping him numerous times.

He survived the Great Jedi Purge and went back to Tatooine where after the purge he vowed to take revenge against the Galactic Empire.

The Fall to the Dark Side: From Bounty Hunter to Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Krayt:

He eventually discovered it was his friend Anakin Skywalker who became the Sith Lord Darth Vader, and so he felt guilty for the destruction of the Jedi Order.

He became a bounty hunter and during one of his missions on Korriban fell to the Dark Side. At that point, he was taken as an apprentice by Lady XoXaan.

It was only a matter of time until he finally named himself Dread Lord, Dark Lord of the Sith and Darth Krayt.

He founded the One Sith and rebuilt the Sith Order, evading the Jedi Order’s detection and spending many years in a state of stasis.

He went on to form an alliance with Moff Nyna Calixte and with used this to spark a War, the Sith-Imperial War. It was this war that utterly destroyed the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances.

Emperor Roan Fel was deposed by him and the New Jedi Order faced its destruction.

Betrayal From Darth Wyyrlok III: Wyyrlok Usurps Krayt and Starts Ruling

Lord Krayt now ruled the Galaxy, and he ruled it firmly for about seven years when the deposed Emperor Roan Fel striked an alliance with Gar Stazi.

Darth Krayt discovered the last scion of the Skywalker bloodline was still alive, Cade Skywalker.

Krayt was starting to fear.

He feared that his death would become a reality sooner than his dream. Having this in mind, it was clear, he decided he had to hunt down Skywalker.

During a fight on Had Abbadon, Krayt was seriously hurt, but survived thanks to his huge power.

Darth Wyyrlok the Third thought he had murdered Krayt, and so he took over.

Darth Krayt Handles the Usurper: Darth Wyyrlok III’s Death and the End for Krayt

Know that Wyyrlok was a guy who ruled roughly the same way Krayt did, so some of his ideals still stuck around, even as Krayt was recovering.

Krayt called upon those touched by the Dark Side, signaling his return. As a consequence, he got his Hands back, who were Darth Talon and Darth Nihl.

They stormed Coruscant and Krayt overwhelmed Wyyrlok the usurper with his superior powers.

Krayt was now in control again, but Cade Skywalker faced him in battle. In the end, he proved that the last descendant of Vader wasn’t to be trifled with.

Is Darth Krayt Canon?

Darth Krayt was canon before Disney bought Star Wars, but now it pains me to write Krayt is no longer canon.

The story of the new trilogy replaces this arch, and in my opinion it does so poorly by introducing Rey and Kylo-Ren as opposed to the Solos, Darth Nihl, Darth Talon and Lord Krayt himself.

There have been rumors of Disney retconning the new trilogy or even discarding it entirely and that would solve the problem.

On the other hand, I think they will find a way to take advantage of at least Darth Talon and Krayt, as they were fan-favorites before being tossed to the bin.

Only time will tell what the future for the Krayt Empire will be.
