Instageek’s Ultimate Top 10 Favorite Anime Ever:

Instageek’s Top 10 Favorite Anime of all time

This is a list of our favorite Anime. We haven’t watched all of the Anime out there so it’s more than likely that you won’t agree with our list.
All of the staff of our website gave their contribution, including the owner. We’d like to thank everyone for their valuable input.
Let’s do this! Without further ado, here’s our list in alphabetical order.

Bleach (2001-2016)

Kurosaki Ichigo was a regular teenager before a Shinigami appeared and changed his life forever. That same Shinigami (Rukia) was attacked by a Hollow (monster created from grieving dead that didn’t cross to the other side), and to save her and his family, which was also in danger, he had to become a Shinigami himself.
The weapon of a Shinigami is a sword, but the sword can evolve, kind of like Goku in Dragon Ball Z, and attain new powers and shapes.
Ichigo fights Hollows and even villain Shinigami to save his friends and the world.
The battles are insane! The plot is really good, but as you know, the main character is almost the same in Anime: teenager underdog trains hard and becomes the best. But still, it’s so good and has the best fillers around.
All episodes were released, and this Anime is over now. It has 366 episodes, most of them being awesome. Fights don’t take 500 episodes like Dragon Ball Z or don’t take more than five months to reach some place, like in Tsubasa.

Busou Renkin (2006-2007)

One of the underdogs on the list. Most Anime lovers haven’t watched this great and short Anime. It has 26 action packed episodes that will make you cry, laugh and cheer.
The beginning of this Anime is similar to Bleach. The main character, Kazuki Muto, saves Tokiko Tsumura and is killed by an alchemical monster known as a homunculus. To save him, Tokiko implants a kakugane, which is an alchemical gadget that becomes a weapon based on its user’s personality, forming a busou renkin.
Throughout the show, Kazuki will develop his skill with his busou renkin and embrace his destiny.

Death Note

One of the best rated Anime in the world. Death Note is the story of Light Yagami, a teenager (always a teenager in Anime) that finds a Death Note, a book that gives his user the ability to kill anyone he knows by writing the person’s name and cause of death.
He then decides to kill every villain, criminal and bad people in general, and who he thinks must be erased because they’re cancer on society. His killing spree catches the attention of the Interpol, designating the best detective in the world, L, to catch Yagami (known to the world as Kira).
Then we get the best manhunt we’ll ever see in an Anime, where two genius tries to catch one another: L tries to find Kira’s identity to put in bars and Kira tries to find L’s real name to eliminate him.
It makes you think about what’s right or wrong. Can we be the judge and executioner of someone? Kira kills to give humanity safety and a better future, is it the right or wrong thing to do? Better watch the 37 episodes.

Dragon Ball Z (1989-1996)

If there’s someone in the world that doesn’t know this Anime, then that person must be really old.
Everyone has watched the adventures of Goku, trying to get rid of the villains thus saving the world again and again.
We all remember the feeling the first time he transformed into Super Sayajin. Damn, I’m shivering right now thinking about that.
The battles are fast but take too many episodes. There are 291 episodes with four sagas (Vegeta, Frieza, Cell and Buu Buu), yeah, like I said, too many episodes. But they’re great, full of humor and action. A must watch Anime.

Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995-1996)

One of the oldest Anime on the list, with 26 episodes. It’s set in a futuristic Tokyo, 15 years after a worldwide cataclysm. A boy named Shinji is recruited into NERV to pilot a giant bio-machine called an Evangelion in combat against Angels, which are monstrous beings.
The show is more about the characters, their feelings, and experiences than about fighting monsters. It feels almost like a study of personalities and the way they are affected by a catastrophe and the pressure they are subjected to contain a new threat.
Though it’s old, the animation’s quality is really good and you’ll want to rewatch it because there’s a chance you won’t understand it the first time you watch it. I certainly did not.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009-2010)

This is the second Anime o Full Metal Alchemist, which follows the manga. The first one was quite different, and it isn’t as good, even though we liked it a lot. This one has 64 great episodes.
The story follows the lives of brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, who wanted to resurrect their mother with alchemy. In alchemy, the principle is almost the same as Lavoisier’s’: “In order to obtain or create something, something of equal value must be lost or destroyed.” Human transmutation is taboo, and there wasn’t much information about how to do it, and so the boys mess up, and Ed loses an arm and a leg and Al loses his entire body and has to live inside an armor.
Ed’s main goal is to retrieve his brother’s body through alchemy and for that to happen they travel to learn the nature of a philosopher’s stone. They end up fighting the homunculi, strange humanoid beings with great powers.
This is one of the only Anime all of us agreed on, and we’re certain that you’ll enjoy watching it. If you don’t have the time, you can read the manga; it’s great too.

Hunter x Hunter (1998-ongoing)

The story is about Gon Freecs, a 12-year-old boy who wants to find his father at all costs. To do just that, he decides to become a “hunter,” like his father, and somehow find his whereabouts. As the story goes, Gon befriends other three aspiring hunters: Leorio, Kurapika, and Killua, following him in his adventures.
Every hunter has its owner abilities, like special powers, and some of them unique and mind-blowing.
It has 62 episodes, and we highly recommend that you watch the Anime and don’t read the manga, which is very confusing, especially if you’re reading it online and in black and white.

Naruto (2002-2015)

With more than 600 episodes, Naruto is almost as famous as Dragon Ballz, but probably more famous to people between 15 and 20 years old.
The story follows Naruto, a young orphan ninja, whose dream is to become Hokage (the leader of his village) and finally be acknowledged by everyone. People badmouth and avoid him because they’re afraid of what’s inside him, the Kyuubi, a huge monster that resembles a fox and has nine tails, which almost destroyed the village when Naruto was a newborn. The only way to contain the monster was to put him inside Naruto.
As he tries his best, he befriends Sakura and Sasuke and has adventures together with their sensei Kakashi.
When the show started, Naruto was just a boy, but he was a man when it ended.
Watching this Anime was a wonderful journey. Mine started ten years ago when the owner of this website recommended it to me.

Tokyo Ghoul (2014)

The story follows Ken Kaneki, a boy who barely survived an encounter with a ghoul. After being taken to the hospital in critical condition, he is operated and receives organs from ghouls, which turn him into half-ghoul.
Ghouls are individuals who can only survive by eating human flesh, live among normal humans in secret, hiding their nature to evade persecutions. Including enhanced senses speed and regen ability, a regular ghoul is several times stronger than a normal human. A half-ghoul is stronger than most humans.
It’s the shortest Anime in our list, with only 12 episodes. It’s fast paced and will certainly make you want more.

Trigun (1998)

Last on our list is one of my personal favorites, Trigun.
The main character is Vash, the Stampede, an expert marksman, whose catchphrase is “Love and Peace.” He has two personalities, one for when he’s among normal people which are a caring and smiling personality while the other is for his enemies, he becomes stern.
Vash has a 60 billion double dollar bounty on his head for the destruction of a city, which he can’t remember due to memory loss. Because of that, he always has someone after him trying to kill him, though sometimes he isn’t recognized because the Most Wanted pamphlets only show stern face.
This Anime has the best humor. It will make you laugh and laugh, and you’ll love Vash. An amazing and complex character that will make you cheer for.
